Absolutely nothing. If a character I like does something I hate, I start hating the canon and continue to like the character and make AUs where they didn't do the thing.

That can depend for me. If the thing feels OOC then yes, I will tend to ignore that change in character that doesn't seem believable. But if it does feel believable for the character, it just isn't something I like, I will be more likely to stop liking the character.

Exceptions apply SOMETIMES if it's a twist where the character was pretending to be a type of character I like and took off the mask when they did the thing I hate. But it has to be done well and usually feels like an asspull or gotcha. The last time I remember it working for me was... Aizen from Bleach.
