If you celebrate?

Well, I've got the flu, so I've been stuck in bed all day. Kitty kept me company though. Mom went to the thing we were both planning on going to, so I had the house to myself. Ended up ordering pho. Watched some Buffy. Played around on Flight Rising.

Shockingly well.

I was kind of dreading it. I thought the food wouldn’t be very good (we do new dishes every year, so it’s always a new experience) and I thought the socializing would be awkward.

But the food was almost all really good, including a few dishes I’d actually make again. Everyone was pretty relaxed and the kids have grown up enough to actually be part of a conversation rather than needing someone to entertain/manage them to keep them from getting into trouble.

I genuinely enjoyed myself and I’m actually looking forward to the next family gathering.

It went well. It was also my niece's birthday and she had lots of fun as well. All the food was great, we got started on time, and everyone left in a timely manner.

The only bad part was we found fleas on the kittens so we had to bathe them so now I have a couple of big scratches on my hand. Will do it again Sunday but I'll have to do it by myself (my sister was here to help).

I'm alone, it's boring, I'm sad again and now I'm seeking reasons to live.

Shit, yeah, holidays can be especially rough like that. And depending on where you are, the seasonal weather and darkness can make everything harder too.

All I can offer is empathy since I’m kind of crap at encouragement.

It's dark by 5 o'clock now. Very depressing.

Good! Long day and I am tired and very much done with being around people, but it was a good day. There was soke new weird dy amics this year so the siblings and I were a little nervous but it has all gone well. And the things I baked and brought were also well received and praised so that is always a win.

I hope yours has been good too!

Don't celebrate it but have the day off so I did some art at home then went for a walk in a big park. Very peaceful and pretty day.

It’s been a busy but fun day. I managed to get half the day off so spent the afternoon at the dog park which was so nice. My dog made friends with the only other dog there and they spent two hours chasing each other. Then when my husband got off work we went to the local buffet that did a big Thanksgiving spread. They had to raise the prices a bit from the usual cost but based on the literally hundreds of other customers we saw, no one minded. We were sure to leave an extra big tip, too.
The food was great but mostly it was just so nice going out to dinner with my husband. A lot of talking and laughing and looking forward to happier times after a bad year. It feels like we’re coming out from under the clouds and that realization made the day extra special.

OK, food was mostly good and the stuff that wasn't good was my own fault but nobody said anything, lol. It's nice having fridge full of leftovers and everyones gone home.

awesome as hell, my sister took me and several other people (her husband, my niece, my niece's husband and her friend) to her club for this amazing yummy buffet. Good times, super nice company and the club even gave me flowers!

I regret not having more than one beer. Didn't celebrate but felt like I ate too much anyway. Got some housework done though.

Went aurora chasing. We saw a glimpse, but the clouds were fighting hard to keep it to themselves.

It went good! Started off rough and I had a few hiccups, but was overall good.

I'd planned to bake desserts and prep veggies the day before, but I knocked out after work. I woke up super early though. Baked apple pie and a pumpkin cheesecake with plenty of room to spare. Got everything done by 4PM like I'd wanted.
My mom made her delicious stuffed chicken wings, all my sides turned out well, turkey came out perfect. My family had a good time together.
My nephew wanted that pumpkin cheesecake and got two slices, he enjoyed it very much.
My feet and ankles hurt from all the standing, but overall, it was a really nice time wirh my family and we have a lot of good food leftover.
