I'm all for vibes, but you might be wrong on this one. Any account I've read says that Adam Sandler's a genuinely good dude. He cares about crew members, which says a lot about an actor/producer, has time for his fans, doesn't throw his celeb status around, etc.

eg: https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/j81or5/good_guy_adam/ https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/15z45u3/what_is_your_opinion_of_adam_sandler/
Also this is unproven but a cool theory, and the comments give more recounts of him being a good guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/RedLetterMedia/comments/13llbad/theory_was_jack_and_jill_2011_a_front_to_rescue/

Some of his movies are awful and can easily give the idea that he must be a jerk (seriously, his humour has a gross and unbearable streak), but I watched Happy Gilmore 2 recently and thought it was really telling. The character's wife had died between films, and rather than using it as an excuse to write himself in a young, hot love interest, he had the character spend the movie mourning her and showing his love and respect for her, and having a lovely relationship with his daughter (played by his irl daughter) and a fatherly connection with another young woman (played by his other irl daughter). I really respected that.

Of this is exactly what I was going to write!

He actually seems to be a good dude.

secret OP here - you're probably right! Which is why this is a secret. I don't go around bad mouthing him or anything, just a weird think in my head about him.

yeah everything I've heard about him as a person is positive

well, his films are sexist in general, that's why I get a gross vibe from him. you may respect his lack of taking the low road in Happy Gilmore 2 but he doesn't tend to have well-created female characters in his films and there's some really gross humor, like that scene in Grown Ups where the dads ogle their friend's 19 year-old daughter as she bends over for something. humor like that normalizes predatory behavior.
