YOU CAN'T KEEP FANDOMS TO YOURSELF.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-18 01:30 am (UTC)(link)ALL CAPS IS FUNNY BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU LOOK PRETENTIOUS.
Additionally, I don't want to keep it to myself. I just want less boring, same-old posts. IS THIS A CRIME?

And I understand about what you were saying. Overexposure can be really frustrating - for example, there are pairings I've been a fan of up until they exploded to the point of indecency, repetitiveness, and badfic, and all of that.
There are, though, people who DO wish to keep fandoms to themselves and their tight groups of friends. That's something uncool, at least I think. D: so no~ I don't think your desire is a crime. XD I agreed with your secret anyway.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-18 01:40 am (UTC)(link)I've never run into a fandom where that happens. Eeew, I can't even imagine...

And you can't make presumptions like that when you don't even know the person you're accusing.
Your opinions have value and sense to them, but please try to be more careful and considerate next time...

(Anonymous) 2007-04-18 02:17 am (UTC)(link)Sometimes, reading posts in a thread can help. I never said anything about ruining. I never said any of that. I have no idea where you got it.
Wow, uh, you don't know me either? Niiice. Maybe I do know her. I have the right to remain anonymous, though, so I'm not going to say either way. At the very least I must have some info on her due to the fact that she's a registered user and I can look at her info and stuff, but you on the other hand... you're accusing some anonymous person you've seen comment, what, a few times of being presumptuous. Apparently without reading the comments thoroughly.
I am much more careful and considerate than you are, in my opinion.

Sorry, I wasn't directly quoting you. And I wasn't trying to attack you, either. I just thought you could have been nicer about it... People seem to take "newb" as an insult, and I wouldn't like it much myself if that comment was directed at me.
I just don't see why people need to be categorized that way at all, rather than us all just enjoying it as it is. And if it's not that great now, like you said, then maybe someone will do something about it. I want more out of some fandoms, too.
Anyway, if I offended you, I am sorry. Like I said, it wasn't meant to be offensive. The hostility isn't really necessary.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-18 02:42 am (UTC)(link)Uh, I already explained that I didn't mean anything bad about it...?
The only reason I've categorized them at all, by saying "newb" or "newer to the fandom" was to say that perhaps they haven't looked back through all the posts of the community, seeing as it's reeeally large now. I thought it was better at the beginning, because like I said before, even generic posts were cool - because they were posts period. Now that the fandom is a little bigger, it's a little annoying to have what looks like the same post again and again.
Hmm, sorry. I just hate being called presumptuous, and I can't imagine why anyone would like it. I hope this is civil?

So it just appeared that you were jumping to conclusions. Sorry about that.
Yeah... I can admit enough that fandoms seem to be better when they're a little smaller. I guess you just try to take those things in stride. I'm sure things might clear out a little if the initial popularity boost wears off, or someone can try initiating something else for a change.
Sorry for meeting on such strained circumstances, even if I don't know who you are.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-18 03:38 am (UTC)(link)Uhh, yeah, these circumstances do kinda suck.
no subject
No hard feelings, I hope.
