The Word on my office computer is driving me crazy. Default font is set to times new roman. Every document uses TNR. But any time I copy and paste something from one doc to another, suddenly the font becomes book antiqua. My googling hasn't come up with any answers on why this is happening, so I figured I'd check here.

Hmm does this help?

File -> Options -> Advanced (7th option from top)
Scroll down to Cut, copy, and paste section -> Pasting from other program
Change from Keep Source Formatting to Merge Formatting

Nope, already checked that, it is set on merge formatting. Thanks though.

Bummer. If it helps you feel better, this is apparently a common problem after they did some stupid shit with a copilot update. Don't you just love it when AI fixes things?

I found this:

give it a try?

ctrl+shift+v (on win) pastes unformatted, which usually means in the formatting of the target document. If you right click to open the context menu where you want to paste, there should also be an option to paste without format.

(I kinda assume you tried this already, but just in case ...)
