Thanks, I really appreciate the explanation.

You’ve got me thinking more about euphemisms in general now… to what extent they’re for the speaker versus the listener and how people interpret euphemistic language as an indicator of how seriously the speaker takes the subject in question.

Things to ponder and try to gently ask other people, I guess.

I'm sorry I answered you. Multiple anons jumped on me, and I feel like I ended up making excuses when I didn't have to. I was hesitant to check the answers and not checking the thread would be better for me. I thought someone might answer the actual comment I made, and not just smell the blood, go for the throat type of thing. Please don't ask more people about it publically because the type of person who is sensitive to wording is a sensitive person in general or a very young person used to Twitch and YT censorship.

I’m sorry my question set that off. I thought I worded it with as much reassurance as I could that you didn’t need to answer if it made you uncomfortable or was too sensitive a subject for discussion here.

I also thought I did answer the actual comment you made, as did at least two other people. Not necessarily in agreement, but in respect and good faith and addressing what you said directly.

I will think a little harder about how I engage with people on something like this.
