I've not really enjoyed my collecting hobby in the last year or two. I still like having my collection on display but don't rearrange it or have interest in adding more. I'm not sure what my next step here should be, maybe putting it away for awhile and thinking about if I want to donate the collection if I don't miss having it on display...? I don't want to act too quickly and get rid of my collection if the interest is coming back, but I don't want to hold on to it if I'm really done. Anyone else been through this, and how did you handle it?

I am going through the same thing. I ended up putting everything away, and while I don’t miss them I still can’t bring myself to get rid of them. I tend to get obsessive in cycles and I’m afraid once I get rid of them I will eventually swing back around to wanting them again. (I sound like a hoarder, but I swear I’m not! lol). I’m sorry this probably isn’t helpful, but you aren’t alone with this problem.

I'm the same with hobby cycles! Exactly why I fear getting rid of my collection. But I don't want to limit my space and hold on to things I'm no longer interested in when I'm really not. I think putting them in storage is a good step, but I feel you about trouble to decide.

So, I might be able to help. I put my collection away in storage and kind of forgot it for two years. Queue a clean up, I found it again, and found that I had renewed interest and was ready to have it out again. If you have the space, giving it time will help you with the decision.

I think I'll try that, even if I don't feel ready to get rid of them yet I'll get to see what it's like to have them out of sight for awhile.
