I don't think that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have a 100% PR relationship, but I can believe that maybe they both, Taylor in particular, were ready to settle down, and may have rushed things a little bit. I hope it works out for them! Travis definitely isn't the type of person I would have picked for Taylor, but you never know; sometimes, a relationship just works!

It’s gonna be forever, or it’s gonna go down in flames

You can tell me when it’s over if the high was worth the pain

I just worry about his kids. I know nothing about their relationship but I hope all the adults care about those children and act in their best interests.

He doesn't seem to have kids?

He doesn't have kids. His brother Jason does.

Agreed though it also makes sense that he's the kind of guy she'd go for? He seems easy for her to manage and since he was already a famous millionaire when they met, he's not going to be easily dazzled by her. I think some of the guys she tried dating were too overwhelmed by her fame to be a good match. I hope they work out.

I'm not a fan of either (I enjoy some of Taylor's music, I think Tom's handsome and I've liked some of the shows and movies he's in), but I'm still a little sad Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston didn't last. XD I thought they made a beautiful couple and they were cute together.

But the second Tom was like, "I don't want to talk about my personal life," to some paparazzi interviewer, looking really uncomfortable, I knew it was over.

Being in a relationship with Taylor means her partner must be part of her celebrity lifestyle. It means sacrificing some privacy and playing up the relationship for her and her fans.

I also think you're spot on that Travis Kelce is a good match. He's a superstar in his profession and has a level of desire/willingness to perform the relationship with Taylor. Like, he's willing to play more into the parasocial aspects of Taylor's career and is comfortable with it.

They're two successful people who are at the top of their game, they match each other's energy.

Yeah, and I think Travis knows his worth and has a good family behind him so if Taylor gets to be too much for whatever reason, he'll have people to go to for advice and support. Being married to a celeb is no joke especially one that's as successful as Taylor.

Little reminder that you don't know either of these people personally.

The whole point of celebs is to come up with fun scenarios! I like it too much to stop

Eh, worked for my parents. They knew each other for four months before they got married and they're at 41 years and counting.

My mom said that the fact they both felt like the other one was doing them a favor was quite helpful. (My mom was shockingly old bride at *gasp* 24, and my father literally had to move cities to find a bride because he was such a slut in his home city and no woman would consider him.)

XD that's funny, hope your parents get along well and like each other's company

I feel like my parents are in a similar boat. Not quite the same but I think they're together because on some level each person feels like the other is doing them a favor by staying together.

My parents met briefly through family before hooking up a few years later. Reconnected on a Monday in June, sleeping together by that Friday, engaged by September, married in early November. Pregnant by the following April and everything went to shit when he lost a finger later that year before my sister was born. Schizophrenia, lost baby, me - usual shit They were together for 19 years before she abandoned him during a psychiatric admission because he was in the middle of a full psychotic break. Officially divorced 15 years later.

Like I always say: DNA can predict certain cancers, but it can't predict buses.

I think they're great for each other. They both have so much zest for living out loud, for showing up for one another, and they're both very top of the line in their own fields, which means they know what they're in for with each other.

And, honestly, the way they look at each other... They're just SO in love.

(Anonymous) 2025-12-10 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
They're both fame whores so I'm sure they'll get along great.

(Anonymous) 2025-12-10 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Dating for two years before getting engaged is rushed?

And I know you probably meant something like Travis Kelce isn't someone you would have thought would have been all that compatible with Taylor Swift when you wrote 'Travis definitely isn't who I would have picked for Taylor', but, wow, my whole body cringed there at the idea of anyone picking out someone else's significant other, especially if they only know that someone else's public persona.

Will and Jada, like-

I'm sure there are a lot of other famous couples who work hard to try to make their marriage work because PR-wise it works in their favor. Not to say there is a lack of love/attraction/compatibility, but I would guess that such things like what does the relationship do for their public image plays a pretty big hand in how they navigate their relationship.

Doesn't help that I heard pro athletes especially are notorious for having PR relationships to hide their real private lives.
