(Anonymous) 2025-12-10 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)i have seen this kind of thing before. the problem with calling something a dogwhistle is that there is no way to disprove it. because if you try to defend or deny you are told that dogwhistles are deliberately vague so that there is plausible deniability. so that means you can call literally anything a dogwhistle and insist that it is because you said so and if someone doesn't see it, they're wrong
that's not to say that there aren't real legitimate dogwhistles because of course there are. but at the same time, it's really easy for someone to declare that something is one, when it really isn't
