Random Question Time

(Anonymous) 2025-12-14 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
This is probably more of "I didn't know this was supposed to be common habit" thing. But I've enjoyed seeing posts of people with their plushies and I've sometimes they have pictures whey are cleaning them with soap and water. Or maybe they run it through the laundry machine I'm not sure.

But my stupid random question: if I have plushies, am I supposed to clean them? I don't mean as a spot clean; but llike I purchase them, it ships to me, I wash them. Like I always wash my clothes before wearing them.

If I am supposed to wash them, is it just simple soap and water? Dawn detergent and water? And let them air dry (which could take a while as my house is cold right now thank you winter).

Thank you!

I know some people toss them in a bag in the wash on gentle when they first get them, especially if they're for kids. I think it's just up to personal opinion.

As for drying. I've read some people let the dryer run on high for a couple of minutes empty, then turn it off and toss in the toy and do just air/no heat tumble for a bit.

I think you only need to wash them after that if they are getting used. Some people just have them as collectables and some people sleep with them etc so it would depend.
