I love werewolf romances and werewolves but only if the werewolves simply turn into ACTUAL wolves instead of giving off a Teen Wolf thing of horror vibe once shifted.

if their shifted form is bipedal, it always just throws me off and lowkey grosses me out? It's a body horror type feel to me i guess.

I really liked the vibe of Bride by Ali Hazelwood

Does it matter if the wolves are like real wolves (like Derek and his mother on Teen Wolf) or if they are like monster wolves (like An American Werewolf in London)?

I'm not into it for the romance, but yeah, more generally, I want werewolves to just turn into wolves. Maybe they can be a little bigger than normal wolves, but none of this vaguely-canine hulking creature thing.

I understand that it can be harder from a visual effects standpoint, since you have to either work with real animals or do CGI for something that people already have a good idea of.

This made me look up the werewolves from Being Human (UK). And wow are they weirdly rodent-like.
