My wife has us watch that National Lampoon Christmas movie every year, and I'll do it, for her, but honestly? I don't like that movie. All of the family dysfunction isn't funny to me, it's uncomfortable and a painful reminder of my unhappy family.

I don't like it either.

I've seen all the Vacation films and I enjoy twisted shit like Bad Santa, but the family dynamics do bum me out and I don't have any desire to watch the Christmas one during the season.

I've never liked this franchise. It was... okay when I was a kid. As an adult and knowing what I know about Chevy Chase's dickish personality, plus my own family dysfunction, it's not a fun watch. My sympathies, OP.

Didn't really watch it growing up. Watched a few years ago, and while there are some gags or parts of the film I like, I didn't really like it. There are so many other Christmas/holiday movies that I'd rather have on.

I got this movie on VHS as a present from a family friend when I was a kid. I tried to watch it multiple times and just could not make it through more than about 40 minutes or so because it was so cringe-y and awful. I ended up recording over the VHS tape with Dragonball Z episodes taped from TV, and I don't regret it one bit!
