I love Avenged Sevenfold's Flash of the Blade, the original is great but I kinda prefer Avenged Sevenfold's cover when it comes to which one I'll listen to more often.

Apocalyptica's Nothing Else Matters. Their covers in general are a treat to my ears.

Placebo's cover of Running Up That Hill (think I prefer the original a bit more). Love the mood of the cover.

Sufjan Steven's You Are The Blood is an amazing expanded take on the original, very cool cover.

Soft Cell's Tainted Love is a classic great cover that is more famous than the original!

I like covers that show a different side of the song, another way of interpreting it. They can be closer or further from the original overall I guess, but I appreciate when the cover makes me see a great song in a new light.
