You can look up things you don't know on Wikipedia. Please don't uncritically agree with things people tell you.

True, but not Wikipedia, it's pretty biased. It's only legit if you search for slugs, math, etc, and other simple information. A funny thing is that I tried to use a few Wikipedia links in my dissertation for padding. Good times...

If anyone's interested according to my image search, Japanese hats looked like German (aka Prussian), Austria-Hungarian and probably a few others from that period.
