I legit had a conversation where I said,

"I've seen people do this Specific Awful Thing to other people, and I've called them out and they turned on me, so I don't bother to give the benefit of the doubt when I see people do that Specific Awful Thing."

and someone replied,

"Of course they're going after you, since you just admitted to doing that Specific Awful Thing to other people and are even proud of doing it. Stop being a bad person and people won't attack you."

To which I asked them to read my statement again, and they doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down. Like, just admit you misread it. Idiots.
