I miss the old internet of the 90's and the 2000s. It makes me sad that so many of these sites were deleted or lost to the sands of time. I deeply regret not downloading/screenshotting those sites when I had the chance. So many convos and memories lost

I feel this so hard. I miss the memories from those sites, and then, there's all the information and conversations and just general stuff from the forums and informative websites that are long gone. All of that stuff is just lost to time :( The internet is not always forever, sadly.

I miss the old internet too but NGL part of me is grateful I can't access my MySpace account anymore. And that hopefully no one else can ever see it ever again XD

There are some messages/conversations/journals/blogs/games/sites that existed back in the day that I wish I can look at again/explore.
But IDK if I really want access to my entire digital footprint. How embarrassing XD

+1

Also: [community profile] smallweb for DW users, and https://sadgrl.online/resources/ for beginner stuff.

Melonland and 32bitcafe are active forums too. I'm only on the former, but there's an overlap in userbases.

I used to have an HD with screenshots of interesting forum conversations I had or stumbled upon, it's damaged and long gone. My experience on 2000s forums were a nightmare but it's bittersweet how everything is memoryholed now.
