I've tried this, OP, but the problem is, animme hair is not drawn to be 'hair' like a stylist can sculpt. You'll never have the kind of body required for an anime bob, you'll just look like ass. My stylist did the best they could with layering and texturing but in the end, 2D stylization cannot always translate to 3D physicality. You can ask for more texture and choppier layers, and see if that language at least gets you on the same page with the person who knows how hair do.

As a third person who loves those anime bobs in here I want to say there are some kpop equivalents that could be used for that, Wonyoung from Ive and Jungyeon from Twice and Choa from AoA come to mind - signed someone who is sporting a bob now
