Sleeping, if I can. I have a massive migraine. Just hoping the fireworks aren't too bad. On the other hand, my kitty is currently on top of my legs, keeping me company, so that makes everything better.

I've got plans with a writing buddy so we're going to write our way into the new year.

Ate and drank with me best buddy. Watched fireworks.

I am boring, tired, old, and a little depressed, so for the past several years, my ass has been in bed asleep at midnight, and I anticipate the same this year.

Sleeping!

It's mid-afternoon on New Year's Day here, and I went to bed early and had a good ten hours of sleep last night, would recommend. But NYE has never been a big deal for me since 1999 when I had major surgery on the 30th and completely missed the REALLY big event, and didn't feel bad about it at all!

Eating some reverse seared chuck steak and doing some laundry. Given how everyone is getting sick I decided to stay in.

I enjoy staying in on New Year's Eve XD it's all cozy and I usually cook a hearty meal as I reflect on the year that's passed and think of what to look forward to in the next to come. Nicer to check in on what others are up to via texts and socials seated at home between videos/episodes I watch or chores I do rather than at a loud public place or at someone else's house.

I watched the last two episodes of Stranger Things so I’m ready to watch the finale when I want to over the weekend. Also did my nails as well.

Nothing. I'm a night owl normally, so staying up isn't a problem. But staying up just to watch the ball drop and celebrate...ehh.

Took a bit of a nap earlier, so that was nice. Otherwise, watching the "Twilight Zone" marathons on TV, just gonna bum around online and read and commment on some fic at some point :). Just a chill holiday here.

went out for dinner which was good, then drinks at a bar across the street from the restaurant which was good until the band showed up. Their playing wasn't technically bad but they kept playing very boring songs so I left, hung around in the freezing rain for well over an hour till the bus showed up and went home. it isn't anywhere near midnight yet as I write this.

Had a nice NY
Went with a friend to a trendy gallery. It was quite nice and not overcrowded because 31th. Then went home by a river, I enjoy it greatly.
Evening spend with a family and had a pretty early night.
Today watching movies

Worrying about my safety as a Jewish person in a city with a Muslim mayor that said globalize the intifada.
