I can't see her as Chapel either. I really dig her, but she's too...luminous. Effervescent? (MOAR BIG WORDS Y/Y, I mean bright and sunny and eye-catching, bubbly, vivacious, none of these seem to fit but all vaguely describe it.) I just can't see her fading into the woodwork which is kind of what Christine does sometimes. ♥

and I gotta spend more time around that comm.

Wait, is that the actress who's actually going to be playing Chapel? I don't hang around that comm much, but I always thought it was just some random extra they pulled out of a screenshot.

But agreed, she doesn't like Chapel-y to me.

nah, she wasn't an extra unless I totally missed her, her name's Rosamund Pike, she was in...the 2005 Pride & Prejudice, and Doom and some other movies. I guess whoever was making the comm header just liked the look of her.

IDK how the hell what's-her-name (who I also like) became this accepted Chapel, but I seem alone in how I picture her. When I read fic I imagine kind of a cross between Uma Thurman (I actually think the original Chapel looked a bit like Uma) and January Jones. And I think Jennifer Garner is an equally lame choice, but I'm kind of biased in...well, my hatred of Jennifer Garner?

Has that comm done a "what are your personal canon facts about McCoy/Chapel" post yet?
