It has been a decade now since I last sat down and watched a new episode of Doctor Who, I tried a couple of times, but it has just been so shit lately I can't get through it. Secret because, I kinda still miss it. I want it to improve so I can have the happy funtimes again.

As a person of color, alot of 'humanity fuck yeah' stories make me uncomfortable, particularly the "Kill/Genocide The Xeno" stories where the "xeno" is basically "Human but with X" and/or are based on real life human cultures such as the Na'vi.

Espeically if they are based on rl human cultures that have experienced genocide in real life....
It feels like barely veiled facism/white supremacy

I know this is really messed up, but I enjoy making missing and murdered people in The Sims. I try to figure out what their personality was like, and pick clothes that they would have actually worn, and of course I try to make the character look like them.

I am not able to actually play them, though. I have tried it before and that felt too weird. I just keep them privately on my computer.

While Rowling's rampant transphobia, bigotry and general assholery is one reason I don't want a stupid reboot of the already massive Harry Potter franchise ... the other reason is that there are so many good books out there that deserve an adaptation instead.

There are so many amazing stories with fantastic characters that don't have an adaptation on the big or small screen, while the mediocre wizard story gets two. Ugh.

I've only watched Vox Machina but tbh I didn't find any of the romances overly compelling. They were all kind of bland and very predictable, I don't know if it works better in the longer format of Critrole, but in the cartoon I was certainly very meh on them all.

i remember originally wishing the movies were a tv show instead so the books could have been more fleshed out, but i was also perfectly okay with the movies. so i understand the reason behind it, but it feels very too little too late. so many people have moved on, and you're right, there are way better books out there deserving of an adaptation that this money, time, and effort could be put into instead. especially when we all know it's going to absolutely tank
