Therapy, a trusted friend, a trusted family member. Journal. Meditate. Exercise. Pet a furry friend. Whatever you need to do to get it out.

I read a quote on the internet - okay, well paraphrased, they basically said it's not the end, it's just that a lot of people's bubbles got popped. That the reality we witnessed this last week is a reality that other groups of people have been living for many years. It's just that this is the first time that those typically unaware of such things are now having it happen to them.

Heather Cox Richardson (historian, political) said a couple weeks ago that things are going to get uglier... which isn't a surprise if you've been paying attention even somewhat this last year. She predicts that all of this will come to a head around May of this year, when she believes one of two things will happen. Either we get fully dragged into this fascist dictatorship, or Americans collectively get so fucking pissed off that we push back and start stamping this shit out. Well, there has been some pushback for a while, but there definitely needs to be more.

(ignore this paragraph if not American) I recommend reaching out to a grassroots organization and getting connected. If you can't be on the front lines, that's fine. Just find some way to contribute, even if that's just making signs for others to carry, or watching someone's kids while they're at a protest. Donating a few bucks to the ACLU or 50501 or Indivisible. They say the antidote to anxiety is action. Granted that's easier said than done, so do what you can.
