It was pretty dumb but essentially Hank presented a video where his script writer (he doesn't write the scripts) presented knitting as some sort of magical artform and even claimed that knitters don't understand how knitting forms clothes, which means they didn't think knitters were capable of three dimensional thinking/concepting and that knitters didn't understand how different fibers reacted to different weather. It was just a really dopey position to take when knitters came up with different stitches, patterns, and layering of fiber in order to create different objects for different purposes. Hank backtracked on it but it took months for the production team to apologize for making fun of knitters and lying about them.

The video has since been deleted and I don't know if it's been replaced. The actual science was interesting because it was about analyzing why knitting works the way it does but the color commentary in the video was so desperate to make dumb lol xD so randum!! jokes that no one knows about the scientific research that inspired it.

So not really misogyny, just infuriatingly ignorant and stupid, more or less. Personally, I think he's still partly at fault for going through with the script, even if he didn't write it. Just hearing that really makes me angry though.
