At this point, I have so many games in my Steam library that I haven't played, that I don't even bother buying new ones, no matter how cheap they are. I don't have that much free time, and I just stick with the same games over and over, so why even bother throwing money away, even if it's only a few dollars?

I’m not going to say this shouldn’t be a secret, but I think it’s actually a very good perspective you have.

I also have lots of unplayed games in my Steam library and one of my resolutions for the year is not to buy any new ones, no matter how cheap, until I’ve at least tried most of what I already have.

I'm the exact opposite. I have so few games in my library and so few that I'm interested in and they are always waaaay too expensive. Even when on 70-80% discount they're over $20, and the base price never comes down.

I'm pretty much getting this way these days. I don't even wishlist anymore. I apparently don't "own" the games I bought anyway, right? Might as well dig into that backlog before some asshole decides to push the red button and lock me out of my own purchase.

My BIL gave me access to his Steam account. He has over 1600 games bought so I'll never run out.

He's had his account since Steam existed and used to run a moderately successful gaming podcast.

Ahh, that explains it. Still, that is A LOT of games! Once you sort through them though, you won't need to buy another pretty much ever.

I have a lot I don't play as well. I haven't quite learned how to not buy more when they're like 90% off, but hell if I'm not jealous of your strength OP!

I mean, kinda same. Def gotta wait to buy another until I knock out some of my backlog, but...when is that gonna happen?
