DA but I actually had the same reading and reaction as the anon you replied to. Could explain the secret for me? because I am clearly misunderstanding it.

Here's the text of the secret:

Star Trek and Star Wars fans share one key aspect, both franchise’s modern fanbase seem to actively hate the original material that the franchises were born from.

As you can see, it says that modern fanbases hate the original material. There is no other way to interpret that sentence without making assumptions about what OP meant to say rather than what they actually did.
