That was around the time I was changing my mind, and becoming a Britney supporter and fan. I remember feeling annoyed on Britney's behalf seeing people freak out over the hair shaving. Let a woman live her life, good grief! Sometimes the only thing you can control is your hair, and Britney's identity at the time was so closely associated with her long blonde hair. Buzzing it all off was a way to say "fuck what you want me to be".

I agree with you so much! Her looks were a big part of her brand, and shaving her hair was something she could do that immediately said, "Fuck you all and fuck your expectations". I feel so horrible for her, thinking of how awful that must have been, for her to have lived through all that. I don't think I could have done it, I would have lost my mind completely.
