The comments about Kennedy leaving don't exactly surprise me, but they are still making me rage. Especially the "ding, dong, the witch is dead" ones. For crying out loud, even if you hate everything but the OT, Kennedy still isn't the cause of everything you think is wrong with newer Star Wars. The way people blame her and talk about her is sexist and gross.

I guess if you spend every year predicting this is the year someone is getting fired/quitting then eventually you will be right.

I can't gloat, not properly, we're doing the same thing with Kurtzman over on Star Trek. Eventually he'll leave, and us sad nerds can declare victory.

I'm not up on the behind-the-scenes stuff of SW but it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that a woman is going to take all the blame for everything people don't like about a franchise.

It's sort of funny because I remember having this conversation with like male Star Wars fans how all of Disney Star Wars sucks and she's to blame except for The Mandalorian, except for Andor, except for whatever other show they liked and like what she wasn't suddenly involved with those? They couldn't keep harassing the actresses so I guess they just had to move to her

I got luck enough to see more people mocking this behavior than enacting, I still stepped away from a few SW adjacent spaces to be sure.

I saw this attitude on Facebook on a post about Kennedy leaving (one of those pages I don't even follow that Facebook is just like, "You like THING, here's THING." No, Facebook, not like that), and I ended blocking about 5 separate people from one thread alone.

But I do have an IRL friend that mocked this attitude in the comments of some of these posts. I was glad he was so outspoken about it.

I doubt things will be much better under Filoni. I don't think he's had a good original idea since Rebels, and there's only so many times he can distract people with "look at this thing you loved from that other Star Wars movie/show!" before people get tired of it. Plus, I don't know how good the new people will be at preventing interference from Disney, who are as much to blame for how the sequels turned out as Kennedy is.

I like Skeleton Crew, which is one of his prods (I know he didn't write it, but he and Favreau were involved), but outside of that, he really IS too much, "Hey, remember that THING you liked from Star Wars in the 80s!?"

And also his stupid Mary Sue.
