Nah Keiko was well-written, it's just that the show's ending pushed for a specific scenario and everyone incuding Yusuke was written for that ending. Prior to the end, she was an incredible breath of fresh air compared to most shonen side pieces.

Agreed. I also have to disagree on Miaka, she had a tremendous amount of guts and agency for an ordinary 15-year-old girl with absolutely no useful magic powers or combat ability.
