I'm totally fine with people kinning whoever they want as long as they don't then come into the fandom and be shitty to people who see that character differently.

I remember getting into fandom back in 1995 in a forum that had a rule that you're not allowed to answer question as a character on the main boards (there was an RP board too) because they got too many arguments from multiple people "being" the same person and answering "X happened/didn't happen and I know because I was there." The term "kinning" wasn't invented yet but it was exactly the same. Those people could be grandparents to kinning teens now!
