I haven’t heard much Barry Manilow, but “Can’t Smile Without You” was in a movie. It sounds like it’s meant for people who’d bolt like frightened deer if a song ever did something surprising.

You like what you like, OP.

Ehh, he's fine. The fact I don't remember any of his songs atm is completeky irrelevant.

You are correct.

See also, Song Sung Blue, which we had to sing in elementary school choir.

The most boring-ass music and lyrics, for real.

Copacabana is good, though.

Not one of the ones he wrote, though very much associated with him and his version is probably the most known one. He also didn't write "I Write the Songs", funnily enough. He did write the music for "Copacabana", which I was pretty surprised by when I heard the full lyrics.

I thought he wrote "I Write the Songs" lmao

I'm not a Manilow fan, like I never went out of my way to listen to his music.
But when someone brings him up or tells me a song he sang or wrote, most times I know the song XD and the song always gets stuck in my head.

NGL sometimes those boring easy listening/adult contemporary songs are ideal background music
