God yeah, I do lose a lil respect for people when they say they enjoy his books. Everything I've ever heard or read about him and his writing makes him seem like an unpleasant sleaze.

You know, there's an audience for everything - I enjoyed the ones I've read. I hope your copies came from a library OP, it sucks paying money for a book you end up hating, especially with how much they cost these days.
