What game is this? I've only heard those names in the context of commedia dell'arte.

For a second I thought this was a commedia shipping secret, that would have been awesome haha. Hope you're not disappointed with the storylines in your game though OP!

Genshin Impact, the characters are from an organization called the "Fatui" (yes, the "Fools") and are a group of antagonists the player meets and sometimes fights with and sometimes allies with various of its members.

In the game, the only character that's been actively seen is Dottore (and he's one of the very few that's been entirely an actual villain the entire time we've seen him). Pantalone has been spoken of by other characters and has been seen briefly in a single game trailer but has not been seen in-game at all, yet.

Which means that no matter what the game developers do with him, there will be people who lose their minds about it because they've had five years to develop their own ideas of what he ought to be like with, as the secret says, only crumbs to work with.

See, I'm so out of the loop on modern gaming that I had no idea. But that's interesting to know.

(That said, an actual commedia dell'arte secret would be pretty funny.)
