In the past few years I have contributed fanworks for femslash February to a particular pairing I love, but last year the response was so intense that it drew the attention of other parts of the fandom that had people demanding I make works for their ship instead.
It has made me hesitant about posting anything for this year.

I used to get those. I was kind of a BNF in one of my fandoms a long time ago and people would whine that I needed to write their ship(s) or I needed to take the chapter story I was writing in *this* direction for them or I needed to write a sequel to this short story that said, "finished" at the end of it.

I used to have some sort of stock answer to that, something along the lines of, "Thanks for your comment, I hope you'll keep reading" and not address what they were whining about at all.

Yeah ignoring them did work for a while until I got the attention of a few very obsessive fans (honestly I don't know if its just one person who is determined or a handful of people, but I've blocked a few accounts that got way too much and had newer accounts with the same-ish mannerisms take their place). I've turned off messages so they have to make a scene publicly, but sometimes even that gets annoying.
It's eased up after a few months of not posting in that specific fandom, but it just sucks overall.
