“Weeping” is especially bad for me because I associate it with infected wounds.

I’m glad to have missed that use of “eloping”, though I’m sadly familiar with “wanton” and “keening” used in very weird ways for smut.

Saw "eloping" misused like that a few times in fic set in the early 1900s, and keep thinking whoever writes that way must be seriously misunderstanding the source canon. Also amusing is when they try to use "strumpet" in some sort of pseudo-period dialect attempt at dirty talk.
