Yeah....it's funny because most people use Valentine's Day as 2 things
1) a way to feel validated that an individual has one person who is supposed to make them feel special/loved
And
2) a competition to see how much better/worse your station in life is by the metrics of romantic relationships

And if someone doesn't participate, they're a loser.

It's been interesting to grow up and see how this holiday is utilized. I never really cared for the holiday because I always thought that if you wanted to make someone you love feel special, you can do that any time. You don't need a specific day to do that. And then when I realized I'm aroace, it made sense why this holiday never gave me anxiety and annoyed me more based on the way others act in relation to this holiday.

Humans compare and project a lot, and if people want to do that on Valentine's Day, they will.

Valentine's Day IMO is the most competitive holiday. People act like it's not, but based on my experience, many adults are insecure over this holiday.
