I feel a little dumb saying this, but I don't understand this secret.

There are a lot of people who think you should give everything a 5 star review or nothing, and complain about people who give "lesser" reviews to things they like. So the secret poster is complaining about that.

E.g. playing The World Ends With You gives me literal headaches because of the screen-switching. So I had a 1-star experience with it, even if other people had 5-star experiences, and I think that’s a useful data point for other people who could get headaches from it.

Absolutely. That is totally relevant and something that people should know, since, like you said, others may have the same problem.

Nobody is every obliged to give something 5 stars.

And it is wild to me that people think you need to give 5 stars or nothing. That makes the review system totally meaningless.
