Same here! It's definitely not something that I personally understand, but used like you described is fine.

Bust just throwing "Daddy 😍" around all the time grosses me out.

I accidentally called my boyfriend "daddy" once when I got my words messed up and was like NO!!!! THE WRONG WORD CAME OUT OF MY MOUTH THAT WAS ***NOT*** WHAT I MEANT TO SAY THERE. Luckily it was just casual conversation but still, it just gives me the ick.
