Small Wins Thread

(Anonymous) 2026-02-20 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Mine is that I stopped biting my nails and they look nice now, so I put on red nail polish and have been admiring my hands all week.

(Olive and June nail polish, by the way; it really lasts with the top coat on!)

Man, that's a habit difficult to kick. I remember my mom having trouble with it so I bought her that nailpolish that meant to keep you from biting but she only used it like once before deciding "it tasted yucky" and never used it again. She can be real silly sometimes, I swear...

You're nail must look so pretty though! <3

Personally I can't think of any particular win, though I have started drawing again. It's sorta annoying since I'm so out of practice, but I am glad to have started again!

Thanks! My nails aren't that long, but they don't look bitten and that's good enough for me.

Congrats on the drawing! I admire people who can create art.

Sick anon

I managed to get some work done from home.

Plus dishes and laundry.

And I can finally make it from one room to another without shitting my brains out, breaking into tears, or wondering why I'm holding whatever I have in my hand and what I was supposed to do with it.

Yay! Such a good feeling to feel at least a little bit better. Being sick is the pits. :(

I got a case's final hearing moved from tomorrow to around two weeks from today. It gives us time we needed to potentially get her out of detention. And also to throw some more things at this case. I really think we can win this one, and she's such a genuinely good person who has been through a lot. I really, really want to help her. So I'm happy.

And I got asked to help with saturday consults. We do a saturday morning time once a month for people who can't come in during the week. There is always one attorney there to answer questions. This is the first time I was asked to do it. Feels nice that they trust me and that I seem to have fully integrated finally.

My swollen gum is just me clenching my teeth while sleeping! The pain and swelling has slowly been going away over the past two days!

Also, I got a haircut and ordered new shoes.

Nice. I got my hair shortened a bunch a little over a month ago. Loving it too.

I decided to start using accommodations for myself at work by wearing my prescription sunglasses to keep from being overwhelmed by the lights and keeping a soft plush at my desk for when I needed to regulate. My coworkers get that I get overstimulated sometimes so it hasn't led to questions that I can't answer.

I also won $900 last night so that will go towards our holiday fund so that mum and I can take a decent trip after how disasterous last year was with losing dad and my cat.

I didn't kill myself today.

That is a big win anon.

I'm rooting for you to make it through tomorrow.

That's all you have to do.

I'll be working on not killing myself for the remainder of my life.

Congratulations on the nail biting!

I lost three pounds after months of working my ass off (not literally , apparently). I’m still like 57 pounds overweight but I had really lost hope and now I feel like maybe I can drop some of this weight, after all.

Hey, that's great!

On the bright side, gradual is best so your skin keeps up with the weight loss, right?

I got two Melt the ICE hats knit this week for two of my kids who requested them.

I don't know if it counts as small win, but I've actively been trying not to doomscroll all day.

I can't risk a lot of movement for various reasons and don't feel good about that, but hopefully I can clear my damn head and figure out my role in things.

Got certified with local makerspaces to use their laser cutter(s) and 3D printers.
Now if only I could figure out why the whistles I've printed keeps getting little leaks. (They can be patched, but I'm not sure if it's the slicer program settings or even just the printer itself.)
