(Anonymous) 2026-02-20 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)No, it's not only cis women, but cis women make up the majority of the fandom spaces where these conversations happen in the first place.
(For the record, as a gay guy who discovered himself in an earlier age of the internet, I am more grateful to than annoyed by the generations of women getting really invested in fictional men kissing. Yes, they sometimes get things wrong, or opt to go for personal appeal over realism, or they start silly fights about what kind of sex their favorite fictional men are having with whom, but they did a lot of us a great service by putting depictions of men desiring and loving other men out there for us to find and share, and every generation of passionate fans are going to find the same things to maybe get a little silly about. In MOST fandoms I've been in, no lives are ruined and everyone still has a good time at the end of the day.)
