Bingo. I have a plastic water bottle, but it’s for when I'm out hiking or when I'm volunteering at a local street festival where I'm outside all day and can't easily just leave my position to go get water.

No one is going to get dehydrated if they can't drink for a couple of hours. There is zero scientific fact behind this because if that were true, literally every species of animal on this planet would be living in a state of constant dehydration, which they aren't. People have traveled for decades without having a water bottle attached to them and have done just fine. Hell, just personally I have traveled extensively through six different countries and the only time I actually kept a water bottle on hand was when I was out hiking in Japan in June, where it was both hot and humid AND I didn't have easy access to things to drink. Aside from that? I managed just fine.
