Re: Venting Thread!
personally the reason i decided against driver's ed (also after a go carting incident where i got rear-ended pretty hard for driving too cautiously and stopping on the track) was because i didn't trust myself to be a great driver knowing my distractible tendencies. And i just don't think I'm safe to even be on the road ever. Maybe I'm choosing to make my life more difficult but. Dealing with inconvenience is preferable to being guilty for killing an innocent person because I'm not a good driver. I couldn't live with that.

(Anonymous) 2026-02-21 01:11 am (UTC)(link)and frankly the fact that you decided against driving means you'd be a better driver than most. you at least make smarter and more mature decisions than many people, they don't give a fuck at all
also i think we let people drive too young. i'm so tired of how every year or two in my area there will be a carload of teenagers in a car accident where they all die. most 16 year olds are not ready to drive, i'm sorry.
Re: Venting Thread!
(Anonymous) 2026-02-21 02:24 am (UTC)(link)I didn't get my license until I was 19 and I take driving VERY seriously (haven't had a ticket in my 35 years on the road). It's fine if you're paying attention, don't try to be Speed Racer, or let yourself become distracted.
