Re: Weekend Plans!
(Anonymous) 2026-02-21 02:57 am (UTC)(link)My first one that I did just to test if I could inside my regular machine was a panel quilt. I used the Riley Blake National Parks panel (it’s like $16 on Amazon), a twin size cotton quilt batting (Quilter’s Dream, request loft, which is the thinnest of that line but more importantly for me it was the cheapest), and I used the flat sheet of a thrifted sheet set for the backing. I just put the layers together and then sewed around each rectangle in the panel. It turned out amazing! It’s my favorite blanket in the house although I do wish now I had used the next thickest batting. I made a second one for my MIL and used a double layer of Quilter’s Dream Select and backed it with a flannel sheet. She lives in a much colder climate and says it’s the only blanket she needs at night.
