I dunno OP. Personally i would still choose neither. Even in the situation where i dont care about what the hater hates MYSELF....i would still look at how they react to and treat a group of ppl they disagree with. If i don't like it I'll still distance myself from the hater even if I don't care about what they hate

For me i have way too many emotional scars from people who were nice to and chill with me ......until suddenly they aren't. That's why i look at how a person I'm thinking about befriending treats others.

Because IME if they are vicious to people they disagree with .... there's nothing stopping them from turning it on me when i say/do something they don't like.

Blame RPG forum mods and admins who are buddy buddy with you..... until you fallout with them/fallout with their buddy/your character acts in a way they dont like. Then you're stupid/your writing is shitty /your RP character is a TOTAL Mary Sue and they've hated you all along.

not only did i encounter a site where a bunch of mods/admin team was like this to me and like my friends and other folks who got suddenly banned and socially blacklisted overnight

I also have an experience where i met a girl thru a Girl Scout event and we clicked and I added her to my forum.... and we're chill . Unnnnntil my sister - my blood sibling - made the mistake of making an rp forum with a SIMILAR (like only similar in that it involved dragons) premise. and the girl was demanding I ban/tell off my sister for "ripping off her idea" and then quit when i said "uh.. Nooo??"

I'm sorry this happened to you. I had something similar happen to me and it messed me up for years. I'd thought those people were good friends of mine, until they suddenly weren't.

and yeah it def sucked because the first on i mentioned was when I was a young adult coming to terms with bullying trauma post high school.. hell for awhile that board gave me things to do /keep occupied with at a time when I would wander the neighborhood half numb and have very concerning thoughts about just not coming back

on the flipside I found my true friends, some of whom i am still friends with TODAY who were the folks who recognized the mod team becoming toxic and deciding it was high time to jump ship.
