everything I know about these people is against my will but I remember hearing about him being a fan of her music, and I know the shelf life of any professional athlete is short, but calling the guy 'washed up' during what seems to be the height of his career (unless, and it is very possible, I am mixing him up with his brother) just feels like reaching.

Look, it's genuinely quite normal to go through some feelings when your fave gets engaged. You're not always going to be a fan of the serious life partner. One of my faves married someone from the sports world, about whom I previously knew nothing. I've since become a little bit of a fan because their vibe works, but like, I *get* having that parasocial emotional reaction. But like... you don't know this man. If he's NOT right for her, she is perfectly capable of ending a relationship and protecting herself, moving on, writing an album full of breakup songs. And yeah, we are used to seeing her relationships not work out. Maybe somewhere along the line there was a guy you really did like her with and there's a little sting over him not being The One while some sport boy is, okay.

If you just need to come to FS to vent and get it out of your system bc your circle of fellow fans is all in on this relationship and you're not, cool! That's what the place is for, sometimes we all have to get something off our chests and our tone implies a level of investment that we don't feel 99% of the time. I'm coming at this from a place of, like... having been there before! Maybe you are never going to be on board the way I wound up being, maybe you'll be proven right or wrong... either way, I hope in your regular day to day, that it's not like... a hard emotional thing?

literally all I can think about is Bette Middler doing Rose's Turn when I hear that name. Is that her mom? Because if so, why is Travis having her approval a red flag? Or is that his mom and I read the whole thing wrong? The structure of the secret has me leaning toward Taylor's mother but I really don't understand the equating of her approval with the things that are bad about him unless she has a history of approving of Taylor's worst romances.

I am a filthy casual, I hear about her from lovers and haters alike, and I'll be real honest, 99% of the songs of hers I like I heard covers in different styles first-- mostly Postmodern Jukebox but also a Mildred Snitzer Orchestra cover of Lover, and some guy doing a cover of Shake it Off that's quite different from the original.

I'll also be glad when the animated Google logo goes away. I keep a Google page open on my second monitor when I'm not actively using it, set to dark mode so it's not blasting extra light in my face, and the animated logos in the corner of my eye always bothers me.
