social media in general? oh god I would never take advice from anyone on those platforms. no, get out, you have no idea what you're talking about, child.

DA This place does count as a form of social media. Maybe not mass social media, granted. Reddit threads and things also count. I don't think it's necessarily a good thing to restrict the idea of something being social media to the big few brands

The larger platforms are flooded with garbage but there are still people on those platforms who post real comments and posts. It’s really easy to separate them for some of the platforms if you don’t train the algorithm to give you just the junk. Although I’m not sure that’s true for TikTok because honestly the whole platform seems like manufactured outrage and people who can’t dance or sing proving how little talent they have.
