I'm just disgusted by how horrible their exhibit is. Just a big concrete pit. It is really sad to see.

I find monkeys creepy (that may be some Uncanny Valley going on for me), and I don't find this chimp cute at all. It's sad that he's been abandoned by his mother, yes, but for fucks sake it was that pigmy hippo last year, this monkey this year.

A baby monkey, being kept with it's troop in a depressing and small concrete enclosure, was abandoned by its mother and the rest of the troop shunned it. Keepers gave it a monkey plushie and it eventually got adopted by another member of the troop.

What bothers me most is the selective empathy of it all. Always makes me uncomfortable.
