Look I know we all love this movie, but there's one thing that has bothered me for years and that is the fact that John Connor basically manipulated a dude into getting horny enough for his mom that the dude jumped through a time portal to protect her. That feels so wrong. :(

To be fair, if I was living in a post-apocalyptic hellhole and saw an old photo of someone looking fresh and clean and healthy, I'd want that too! The fact that it's Linda Hamilton is just a bonus.

Did John Connor give Reese a photo of his mom, and say "hey this is my mom. Do nothing with that info btw lol?" And even if he did, can you blame him if his existence depends on completing the time loop?

John Connor gave Kyle Reese a picture and told him stories about how great John's mother was. Oh, the horror. Since John's very existence depends upon it, I find it hard to blame him for easing the way for his parents to get together. I think it might be less manipulative than telling Kyle the truth.
