Re: Fandoms you wish were bigger, fandoms you wish were smaller...

Bigger: Silmarillion. Just because I want even more people. It isn't tiny per say, but it isn't huge either. And it is the type of fandom where there is so much to explore, seeing more people and different interpretations is just always fun.

Legend of the Seeker. Wish the fandom hadn't died because I'd love to still be in it. It was so active for a while and fun.

Smaller: Star Wars. So much of the fandom is so obnoxious and so entitled.

I'd love to meta about the Silmarillion all day but I have zero ideas for fic that would add to fandom in any way. Tolkien was smart to write down the dramatic climaxes he already thought of, the in-between is just "and for a thousand years nothing happened in Gondolin while the sentries kept watch, and in the Second Age nothing happened for two thousand years until Sauron made a ring." Even with the unfinished info about Numenor, there's not a lot of interesting drama to write since most of the early kings lived, had children, and died, and Nothing Happened.

I wrote some porn fic. But mostly I was all about headcanons and meta. The Tumblr fandom loves that sort of stuff.

haha that's probably my problem - I don't actually care enough about any sexual relationships between any of the characters, not even the unhealthy ones.

There is lots of everything on Tumblr. Meta on even the most random, obscure of characters. It is the most varied fandom I've ever been in, and for the most part has a very live and let live attitude to the things other people enjoy.
