Also when they do go the diversity route but don't actually do any good writing etc, the result is always "SEE people don't WANT us to cast minorities/women" and/or "the only reason people hated this is because people are all racist/sexist" and not because, you know, it was low-effort virtue signal slop. And they have a great excuse not to do it again, or do it again exactly the same way but still not actually improve the end product.
