My favorite streamer has become a variety streamer, and rarely plays the game she first started with. And you know what? I totally respect that. I can understand how playing the same game for so many hours each week can make your brain melt and run out of your ears.
But at the same time, I personally am disappointed that she doesn't play it very often anymore, because it's my favorite game. I support her and will still watch (or at least lurk), but I'll always be a little sad that she has mostly abandoned it.

This is how I feel when I subscribe to a prolific fandom author and their new fandom isn't interesting to me.

Sometimes I'll read stuff anyway, or give a new series or a movie a go if it's something that appeals to me (like, Sherlock and Hannibal aren't too much of a stretch) but when it's anime or boy bandom, wow, I really don't care to.)

Subscribed to someone creating cute stuff for my niche ship in an old fandom-- not only that but for an equally old but not as popular tangentially-related fandom!-- and the moment I hit that subscribe, they were hopping around between fandoms I really don't care about, leaving a promising story for a fandom with no activity hanging (and no one exploring the same topic, to boot!). I'm still subscribed, and sometimes I do check out stuff for things I have no investment in, but man...

Some streamers I follow have the opposite problem, they're so stuck on one game that it gets boring and never changes.

It's nice when there's a middle ground though and for example a Stardew Valley streamer branches out to try/review other farm games or a Diablo streamer branches out to try/review other ARPGs, while still returning to their original content

Same with one of my favourite streamers. I know ACNH isn't the game du jour anymore and she does still do an island occasionally, but I don't care about a lot of the games she plays (Palia for example).

Can relate. The streamer I was following moved on to other stuff, which is understandable, but a small part of me was hoping they'd further progress in the game I like. Then they started streaming less and less and now they've basically just disappeared lol. Oh well.
