At least one person, the anon above you, is insisting it should be Other. I don't think you should be taking their side and defending them here...

DA

Anon above says that trans characters who are using vaginas for sex
instead of dicks should be in Other. Not that trans characters are inherently Other. This also doesn't translate to how anyone views trans people in the real world. These are fictional characters, often porn, where someone else's genitals matter to people. God forbid we categorize fiction.

Also, that's not how the world works. Oh, you only agree with a person 80%? Well, you should be arguing for the other side then.

That's not how any of this works.

"you should be arguing for the other side then"

Literally nobody said this, but starting to see why these conversations never go anywhere. Damn there's so many people being like "literally nobody said that" in this thread

Well, AYRT also wasn't taking their side and defending them here.

They were arguing their own thing, which mostly but not entirely agreed with anon above. So it looks like we're all guilty of that. You included.

This is the comment I was referring to, though it's getting difficult to determine what anon is which now.

I'm taking their side in the sense that I agree these things should be in a seperate category on a porn site and tagged if in fanfic regardless of rating. I'm only disagreeing that the "Other" category on AO3 is used for that.

Right and that's a different stance than 'all sex involving non-cis genitalia should be tagged other, even in sex scenes in a romance fic on a non-exclusively porn site'.

Not being on that side doesn't mean you have to support the opposite, just pointing out these are different and taking your stance doesn't necessitate defending theirs.
